In any good story, may it be a novel, ‘copy’ — stories you promote a product, service or idea, a stage or screenplay, a writer creates characters — entirely fictional or based or real-life characters by giving them goals, throwing obstacles in their way, and creating conflict. The story creator connects an audience to a story by making characters relatable. Character development, and how to make the REAL is an essential element of Storytelling, as well as a hook into the narrative arc of any story.

The classic Hero’s Journey and discussing the role of the character in the story. Creating characters that readers can relate to, that drive your story and hold audiences’ interest, isn’t easy. With the help of the information shared in this ‘live’ interactive McSill Golden Hour, you can start asking yourself the right questions about the characters you need for your stories.
